Taiwan market: Panasonic to roll out 1080p 37-inch LCD TV

Taiwan market: Panasonic to roll out 1080p 37-inch LCD TV

Panasonic Taiwan will soon launch a 1080p 37-inch LCD TV in Taiwan at price tag of less than NT$60,000 (NT$1,829), according to today's Economic Daily News (EDN). The model will be the first full high-definition (HD) LCD TV introduced by Panasonic Taiwan in the local market, said the paper.

Panasonic Taiwan will push LCD TVs for the 37-inch-and-smaller segment, but for the 42-inch-and-larger TV market, PDP (plasma display panel) TV will be its focus, said the paper.

Wow. It's amazing how much power they can pack into such a thin plasma television. The only question I have is.."Does it get any bigger and powerful than this?"Panasonic Taiwan began offering a 37-inch PDP TV model locally in mid-2006 at NT$59,900, according to the company. Panasonic Taiwan started assembling PDP TVs in Taiwan at the end of 2005 to offer a more aggressive pricing.

6th Generation Ipod

6th Generation Ipod

For all of you who got an ipod video for christmas a new one in the making! Apple really likes to stay ahead of things and this proves it. The first image I have is the actual patent request that apple submitted.

Even though this is only the first patent request, i must say i am impressed and awaiting the arrival of the new ipod. The ipod now already has the design and GB capacity i need. What more can i ask for? Steve Jobs plans to answer that question soon with the San Fransisco Expo on April 1st showcasing how this new ipod will "change" the world of music and MP3.

Expo reaction: iDisappointed

Expo reaction: iDisappointed

First, let me say this. The iPhone looks incredible. It’s a definite paradigm shift in the world of phones, PDAs, and iPods. I want one, even if I never use the phone portion of the device. Same with Apple TV—I’ve actually ordered one for our home, as it will meet our needs perfectly. My gut reaction is that Apple has hit a huge home run with the iPhone.

First off, the phone looks so slick in design and has features beyond every other phone. I though to myself, it looks good, but does it work good? The article here demonstrates why the iPhone is so disappointing and people questioning its surface without further careful inspection.

Major League Gaming Awards $1.75 Million in Contracts for Top Pro Video Gamers

Christmas Comes Early for Members of Team Carbon and Str8 Rippin

NEW YORK, Dec. 18 /PRNewswire/ -- Major League Gaming (MLG), the
world's first professional video game league, announced today that it has
signed a $1 million dollar team contract with team Carbon, the new National
Champion four- man Halo 2 team, as well as $250,000 deals with three
members of team Str8 Rippin. With these contracts, MLG now has an
unprecedented three teams each signed to million dollar contracts.
MLG made history in June 2006 by signing team Final Boss to a $1
million contract, and Tom "Tsquared" Taylor, Str8 Rippin's team captain, to
a $250,000 contract -- the biggest contracts ever awarded to pro gamers.
With the new contracts announced today, MLG continues to professionalize
gaming by signing more of the world's top pro gamers to exclusive,
three-year deals.

Pro Gamers are beginning to be seen as professional athletes. They are being paid 250,000 - 1,000,000$ by Major League Gaming (MLG). MLG has been the fastest growing pro gaming syndicate in recent years. I actually played halo 2 for the Xbox console and earned a semi sponsorship from Rockstar energy drink over the summer. However, when school started i moved away from gaming and took school seriously. From time to time i still play.

Cell phones with built-in MP3 players

Cell phones with built-in MP3 players

Many cell phones now come with integrated music players. Sprint, Verizon and Cingular offer music services, and they can be great for listening to tunes on the go. But if you really want the best music phone around, we suggest the Nokia 5300.

LG LX550 Fusic (Sprint)

Cnet rating: 7.6 out of 10 (Very good)

The good: Attractive design; admirable call quality; high-end features including Bluetooth, speakerphone, MP3 player, Micro SD card slot, EV-DO support and FM transmitter.

The bad: Shaky music quality; tricky keypad controls; limited photo resolutions; no analog roaming.

The price: $180 with service

This article shows the new advance of phones today. It's interesting to see how many of them come MP3 compatible. The phone is nice and has many designs and features but it is costly. Follow the link to read more..

Why Teens Do Stupid Things

Why Teens Do Stupid Things

Teens smoke, take drugs, have unprotected sex and ride with drunk drivers, not because they think they are invulnerable or haven't thought about the risks, says a new Cornell study.
In fact, they are more likely to ponder the risks, take longer (about 170 milliseconds more) weighing the pros and cons of engaging in high-risk behavior than adults -- and actually overestimate the risks. It's just that they often decide the benefits -- the immediate gratification or peer acceptance -- outweigh the risks, says Valerie F. Reyna, professor of human development at Cornell.

This article is interesting. Many teens would find it interesting to find that this actually may be true. Follow the link to continue and finish the article.
